Provides academic assistance to students in all academic areas and workshop facilitation as needed. Tutors work with TRIO Detroit Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search programs in Southwest and Northwest, Detroit within our target schools.
High school diploma or GED.

Reports to TRIO Staff on student progress.
Provides academic assistance to students, either in a group or individually.
Instructs on all academic areas such as math, reading, science to improve basic skills.
Assists students with SAT preparation.
Responsible for maintaining records on each student who is being tutored, including follow-up.
Assists students in developing the study skills necessary for academic success.
Provides interventions to address observed barriers that may reduce the participants chances of successfully completing the program or academics.
Utilizes a variety of teaching resources to develop program participants knowledge of subject area.
Facilitates workshops as needed.
Other tasks as assigned.
