Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an accounting or finance student in the Pullman/Moscow area. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. This opportunity includes rotations through various groups in our accounting and finance department. Duties may include working in accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, project accounting, and internal audit. As a an Accounting/Finance Intern, a typical day might include the following: - Offering support in the areas of accounts receivable, account payable, cost accounting, tax, internal audit, consolidation accounting, business unit finance support, and/or project accounting.
- Performing journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations, document accounting processes, and assist in performing month end close tasks and/or in the preparation of tax returns.
- Assisting with preparation of financial analysis, budgets and projections, product cost analyses, and other analyses.
- Assisting with research and planning according to generally accepted accounting principles and/or current tax laws.
- Assisting with special projects.
This job might be for you if you: - Are a current student pursing a degree at an accredited institution in Accounting or Finance.
- Have a minimum of 1 year commitment (including summer) to intern position.
- Are motivated and self-directed.
- Have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
- Are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- Are able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Have background check results satisfactory to SEL.
- Have negative drug test result(s).

Pay Range Data ($17.00 - $23.00 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
