Advanced Assistant Professor/Untenured Associate Professor Faculty Position in Race and Ethnicity in the United States

Description
The Department of Political Science at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time advanced Assistant or untenured Associate Professor of Political Science with demonstrated expertise in the field of Race and Ethnicity in the United States. The appointment begins in August 2025.

This position is open to experienced candidates trained in American Politics whose research and teaching expertise is focused on race and ethnicity in the United States, broadly defined. We welcome candidates with research and teaching on themes including race and ethnicity in electoral politics, immigration, health policy, and other topics that complement existing course offerings. The successful candidate will teach courses at all levels, including introductory courses in American Politics and upper division courses in their area of specialization. Holy Cross supports collaborative cross-disciplinary teaching and scholarship. Many programs and departments at the College are engaged in the study of race and ethnicity in the United States, including but not limited to the following: Critical Race and Ethnic Studies ; History ; Sociology & Anthropology ; Education ; Peace and Conflict Studies ; Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies ; the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies .

Tenure-track faculty positions at Holy Cross include competitive salaries and benefits, generous individual startup funding and annual individual research & professional development funding, regular research leave opportunities, and a one-course reduction in the first year of the appointment. Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in scholarship and a commitment to effective undergraduate teaching in the context of a liberal arts college. Ph.D. required. Candidates must have a minimum of two years experience as a full-time tenure-line (or equivalent) Assistant Professor. Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for appointment as untenured Associate Professors. All candidates will need to present four semesters of teaching at Holy Cross before they may be considered for tenure.
