Job Brief:

Markt Ludwig Art Studios a premier art restoration company based in New York City has expanded to the Dallas area.

Due to our growth we are adding to our team and currently seeking a talented person to provide art and collectible restoration support. The ideal Art Restorer candidate will have a degree in Fine Arts as well as a background in painting and a desire to become an Art Restorer. This is not a graphic arts position.

We work on a variety of items including paintings works on paper lithographs sculptures photographs taxidermy collectibles furniture and other items of sentimental value.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Catalog and assess items for restoration.
• Disassemble items to be restored.
• Clean and reassemble artwork.
• Order replacement items such as frames mats stretchers etc.
• Perform appropriate and accurate restoration techniques in an efficient manner.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor or masters degrees in fine arts.
• Have framing and matting knowledge
• Understanding color matching principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; positive attitude
• Working knowledge of basic PC and Mac operations
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Be ethical respectful and understanding of our clients needs
• Photoshop experience a plus.

Work Components:

• The pay range is $20 to $26per hour depending on relevant restoration experience. A higher range is available for a supervisory position.
• Benefits include flexible hours vacation and sick time.
• Nine holidays plus two floating holidays.
• Eligible for a bonus program.
• The probationary period may last up to threemonth.
• Preemployment drug screen and a criminal background check required.
• Art Restorers may be offered a position in New York City.
