Job DescriptionJob Summary:Under limited supervision, this role is responsible for all phases of the Saint Paul College campus store operations, including budgetary, purchasing, sales, inventory control, personnel and public relations. Supervisory duties include planning and assigning work of a large staff as well as providing training and evaluation of work methods. Performs related work as required.Job Duties:Oversee bookstore operations to ensure sufficient resources are available and used properly to maintain efficiently run operations and to ensure that the college?s goals and objectives are supported.Supervise Bookstore staff in accordance with the respective collective bargaining agreements and plans to ensure the assigned responsibilities are effectively performed.Manage the Bookstore POS system, software applications and e-commence web site so that all systems are providing seamless and timely services to students, faculty, staff and guests of the college.Manage and provide staffing oversight to SPC Copy Center/Mailroom Manager.Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.Minimum Qualifications:Three years of retail operations experience; one year of this experience can be substituted with a Bachelor?s degree in Business or related field.Considerable knowledge of retailing practices and procedures (i.e., inventory controls, open-to-buy, budget preparation and monitoring, forecasting, promotion, advertising, etc.)Leadership, supervisory and managerial skills in order to plan, direct, and evaluate job performance.Excellent customer service and communication skills (oral and written) to effectively communicate with faculty and students in diverse populations.Considerable business background in accounting to include the areas of cash receipts, accounts payable and accounts receivable.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Strong computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor?s degree in Business or closely related field.Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of retail bookstore operation and maintenance, including publishing industry, discounts, returns, and wholesale pricing policy.Familiarity with procedures concerning the purchase and resale of used books.Familiarity with retail web ordering and software applications.Salary Range:The salary range for this position is $25.24 to $36.10 hourly.Other RequirementsAll resumes must clearly address the Required Qualifications as stated above.
