Job Title: Campus Store Manager

Reports To: Director of Finance & Strategic Operations

Work Schedule: Academic School Calendar, plus set up time in summer

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt -Part-time Hourly

Position Summary Manages and coordinates the activities of the campus retail store. This position will work Part-Time 20-25 hours per week, depending on the set hours of the campus store operation, and will not work when school is not in session. A schedule for the summer will be organized with the supervisor, to allow for the set up of the campus store to be ready to serve students at the start of the school year.

  • Establishes store policies and department procedures.
  • Sells merchandise and orders merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
  • Records delivery of merchandise compares records with merchandise ordered, and reports discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
  • Inspects merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed.
  • Recommends additions to or deletions of merchandise to be sold in the bookstore.
  • Prepares sales and inventory reports.
  • Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations.
  • Approves cash disbursement voucher for payment of merchandise purchased by bookstore.
  • Installs and removes department cash-register-receipt tape and audits cash receipts.
  • Plans department layout or merchandise or advertising display.

Education and/or Experience

A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required, preferably in business or retail management. At least one year of related transferable experience in merchandising/retail is required, as well as at least one year of experience in a management role. Experience working in a school store is highly desirable.

Salary/Wage: Hourly Range, $36.00-$50.00 per hour.Salary offers are based on factors that include years of experience, training/skills, internal peer equity, market and other organizational considerations. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and be comfortable using Point of Sale systems, Google Drive, and Microsoft Excel.
