Our client, a busy professional couple in Brooklyn, NY, is looking for an experienced Chef/House Assistant. There are no pets or children in the home. The position is Monday – Friday. Two days you will start at 9am and oversea the housekeepers ho arrive at that time and the other 3 days you will start later around 11am and work until about 7:30/8pm ( until the completion of dinner and everything is cleaned up).
The couple eats very organic, no processed food and prefers meals made from scratch. You will sometimes cook breakfast. Lunch and dinner you will definitely cook daily. Some lunch you can make the day before and prepackage them. You will also be responsible for keeping the fridge and pantry stocked and make light snacks.
Traveling upstate to their second home will be required sometimes. You will manage both homes.
Meals:
• Cook lunch (lunches for Thursdays and Fridays need to be packed the day before)
• Cook dinner (typically, but not always, Mon-Thu)
• Light snacks
• Cook breakfast as requested (can typically leave prepared the day before)
• Keep fridge and pantry properly stocked
Please note: Some meals will be served at the Principle's studio (a short distance from the house) + upstate when they travel there
For properties:
• Oversee daily and general maintenance of all personal properties (NYC and upstate)
• Oversee renovations
• Develop guidelines and maintenance schedules
For travel:
• Book flight and hotels
• Prepare itineraries as necessary
• Coordinate airport transfers
• Coordinate with local drivers/chauffeurs
• Pack and unpack suitcases
Home in general:
• Make sure the home is always neat and tidy (light housekeeping)
• Organize drawers, closets etc.
• Oversee housekeepers/deep cleaning, train as necessary (2x a week, starting at 9 AM)
• Run errands
• Book and coordinate personal appointments
• Manage calendar with General Manager (there is a weekly meeting to review)
• Coordinate with full-time driver
• Assist with cars as necessary
• Run errands and other personal tasks (gift planning + shopping, wardrobe maintenance)
Compensation:
$125 – $130K on payroll
