We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable High School Social Studies teacher to teach Civics and World History. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing students to become informed, responsible citizens and global thinkers. This teacher will foster critical thinking, historical inquiry, civic engagement, and an understanding of global cultures and events.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards in Civics and World History.
Create a classroom environment conducive to active learning and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives.
Integrate current events, primary sources, and technology into instruction to build real-world connections.
Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data and individual student needs.
Promote civic responsibility and historical thinking through activities such as debates, simulations, and research projects.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Participate in professional development and contribute to department and school initiatives.
Uphold school policies, classroom expectations, and student support practices, including MTSS.
Lead and facilitate a Student Government for 9-12 students.Strong knowledge of Civics, U.S. Government, and World History content.
Ability to differentiate instruction.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Experience with digital learning platforms and instructional technology preferred.
