About Buildings + Places:  

Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Our Michigan studio focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, Higher Education, and Federal market sectors. We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, equity, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget. 

 

AECOM  is seeking a  Civil Engineering Intern  for the Honolulu, HI office.

This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work per agreed budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements:  

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in  civil engineering  and must have completed at least  two years  of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

  • Assist in the production of all phases of the design process.

  • General knowledge of architectural and engineering drawings.

  • Some Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

  • Well organized and possesses an innovative mindset.
