Position Summary

We are seeking a teaching faculty (non-tenure track) in the Graduate Public Health Program (MPH). The successful candidate will join a university-wide multidisciplinary team of public health faculty and be part of the Division of Health Services Policy and Practice (HSPP) in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health (EEH).

With a primary focus on teaching , this position will also make contributions to the scholarship and service missions of the school. This is a non-tenure track, calendar year (12-month) position, fully funded by New York State.

This faculty will:
  • Carry a teaching load up to 12 credit hours per semester (equivalent of three 3-4 credit courses), depending on the amount of scholarship and service. Teaching assignments will include the fall, spring, and summer terms.
  • Serve as academic advisor and capstone project mentor to MPH students, primarily in the Health Services Administration concentration.
  • Receive renewable, multi-year contracts.

About HSPP/EEH
The Division of Health Services Policy and Practice has developed a multidisciplinary program that combines innovative research with didactic training in core public health concepts, policy formulation, community health assessment, program intervention design, behavioral economics and financial incentives, implementation and dissemination research, program management and evaluation, and other core health services competencies.

The Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health prides itself in its multidisciplinary faculty, with faculty research focused on chronic diseases (e.g., cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, periodontal disease, diabetes, eye disease), environmental health, global health, infectious disease, womens health, genetics, nutrition, health care delivery, quality of care, health policy, health economics, and health disparities.

SPHHP offers programs at every degree level and is the home to departments of biostatistics, community health and health behavior, epidemiology and environmental health, exercise and nutrition sciences, and rehabilitation science. It is one of only a few schools across the country that includes both health-related professions and public health. It has a diverse student body which it is actively engaged in supporting. Minimum Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DDS, DrPH, PharmD, etc.) in a public health discipline or related field
  • A record of/potential for excellence in teaching at the graduate level




Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Public Health degree, in addition to a doctoral degree in a public health discipline or a related field
  • Experience in public health practice
  • Experience teaching public health and health services courses at the graduate level
  • A record of/potential for research/scholarship and service
  • Experience in mentoring graduate students
  • Experience in online education
