Job Description

Coordinator, Brand Activation: (Coordinator, Grassroots Marketing) 

The NC Courage/North Carolina FC is seeking a dynamic and passionate Brand Activation Coordinator to drive community engagement and promote the team through local initiatives. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing grassroots marketing events, fostering relationships with community organizations, and identifying opportunities to connect with diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative, and have a deep understanding of the local market. Responsibilities include managing event logistics, distributing promotional materials, and representing the NC Courage brand at events to build awareness and excitement around the team. 

Grassroot Marketing (70%): 

  • Grassroots Campaign Development : Create and execute grassroots marketing campaigns designed to drive awareness and increase fan engagement. This may include events, grassroots advertising, local sponsorship activations, and other localized efforts to promote the team, and encourage attendance at matches and enhance brand awareness. (Sports & Social, Fenton, etc.) 

  • Event Activation & Coordination : Plan and coordinate promotional events, watch parties, and local events. Ensure these events align with the club's overall marketing strategy and foster positive interactions between the team and the community. Create standard operating procedures for each event. 

  • Fan Acquisition:  Assist with strategies to increase fan attendance at events, season ticket sales, and loyalty. Identify key local markets and demographics to target for growth and engagement. Identify cost per acquisition. 

  • Supporters Groups Liaison:  Act as the Front Office point of contact with the supporters groups, assist them in the promotion of supporter growth, promote purchases of Season Tickets, keep in contact with other club supporter group liaisons, and provide open space for ideas from supporters in elevating the gameday environment. 

  • Budget Monitoring:  Manage Grassroots Marketing budget for giveaways, entry fees, part-time staff payments, etc. 

  • Partnership Collaboration : Work closely with the sponsorship and partnership teams to help activate local brand partnerships, ensuring the successful integration of sponsors into grassroots marketing campaigns. 

  • Digital & Social Media Support : Occasionally support the team’s digital marketing efforts by capturing grassroots-specific content for social media platforms and digital channels. 

  • Event & Campaign Support : Collaborate with the broader marketing team to support the promotion of special events, ticket sales, and fan engagement campaigns, ensuring the website is regularly updated with relevant information and promotional materials. 

Part-Time Employee Management (30%): 

  • Part-time Employee Management:  Assist in hiring Street Team, Schedule, track, and work with Fan Experience Coordinators to provide part-time assistance at off- site events. 

  • Development of Event Briefs:  Develop standard operating procedures that include the setup, talking points, current promotions, and breakdown instructions for each event. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 


Preferred Skills: 

  • 1-3 years of experience 
  • Event planning experience preferred 
  • Bilingual is highly preferred but not required 
  • Attention to detail and organization 
  • Strong writing skills
