Responsibilities:
- As a Database Administrator/Data Architect, I am tasked with:
- Designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation.
- Maintaining and supporting existing and future databases in all designated NNSA enclaves.
- Managing data, such as dataset placement, database performance, and data recovery and integrity at a physical level.
- Designing and building relational databases, including data access analysis design, and archive/recovery design and implementation.
- Developing strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of databases.
- Working in a data warehouse environment, including data design, database architecture, and metadata repository creation.
- Reviewing and developing object and data models and the metadata repository to structure data for better management and quicker access.
- Providing expert knowledge for the design, development, build, analysis, evaluation, installation, and administration of database management systems.
- Designing and implementing databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
- Preparing system requirements, source analysis, and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
- Defining database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
- Performing database performance tuning, optimization, indexing, and implementing industry and agency best practices.
