The department of Radiation Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a Director, Clinical Physics of Operations. The primary objective of this position is to provide leadership to monitor and coordinate the day-to-day clinical physics activities to ensure streamlined, cost-effective, safe and high-quality services. This requires working closely with the Chief of Physics, Radiation Oncology Chair, Sr Director of Operations and the Radiation Oncology VP towards continuous process improvement within as well as outside of the physics group.
For this to be effective, the candidate will liaise closely together with physicists, physicians, therapists, nurses, IS/IT and administrative personnel to enhance the quality of our services. The candidate will be a regular member of clinical committees and will also be responsible for substantial management and administrative duties.
The candidate is a faculty member of the HMS and is expected to participate in clinical physics teaching and training of residents, fellows and junior physics staff, and conduct independent research and development programs. Master?s Degree in Medical Physics required, preferably a Ph.D in Physics, Medical Physics of related topic. Certification by the American Board of Radiology, ABR is required for this position.
At least 5 years of clinical experience in radiation oncology physics following the completion of the terminal Medical Physics degree.
Evidence of the ability to act in a leadership/management role in his/her area of expertise.
