Job Description
Our client, a leading provider in digital forensics and eDiscovery services, is seeking an eDiscovery Forensics Data Analyst to lead forensic investigations and ensure the accurate handling, collection, and analysis of digital evidence. This role involves managing device intake, conducting forensic examinations, maintaining chain of custody, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet critical deadlines. The ideal candidate will have expertise in digital forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, and Magnet, along with strong analytical skills and experience in forensic investigations. Certifications in digital forensics are a plus. This is a hybrid role, with in-office presence required three days a week in either Phoenix, AZ or Chicago, IL.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Collaborate with a skilled team of forensic analysts and technicians
- Oversee and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly tasks related to data intake, device handling, forensic analysis, data destruction, and reporting
- Maintain accurate chain of custody for all devices and evidence received
- Perform advanced digital forensic collections, investigations, and data analysis
- Work closely with managers, departments, and external stakeholders to align work activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational and technical challenges by leveraging expertise and established processes
- Be adaptable to working outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet pressing deadlines
- Apply best practices in forensic documentation and chain of custody procedures
QUALIFICATIONS- A degree in computer science, digital forensics, or equivalent work experience in digital forensics
- Some years of hands-on experience in digital forensics, with the ability to independently manage forensic cases from start to completion
- Familiarity with industry-standard forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, X-Ways, and Magnet
- Experience collaborating with eDiscovery teams and project managers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong technical knowledge of computer systems, mobile devices, and cloud-based platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic
- Certifications such as CFCE, CCE, CEECS, GIAC, or GCFA are highly preferred
- Existing connections within the legal industry are a plus
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS- Ability to transport equipment and devices up to 50 lbs.
- Extended periods of desk work and computer use
- Occasional travel to client locations or data centers, including trips outside the state
Expected salary for this role is $55,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
