Leidos Maritime System Solutions (MSS) is seeking an experienced electrical engineer (EE) to work as part of a system development team to research, design, develop, and test advanced technologies for next-generation maritime capabilities.
The Leidos engineers are key performers within an experienced Government-Industry team in a fast-paced accomplishment-oriented work environment. Work will be performed predominantly in San Diego, CA at the Naval Information Warfare Center collaborating with other on-site team members and engineers located at other Government, industry, and Leidos facilities.
Most at-sea testing will be performed in San Diego, but limited travel may be needed to collaborate with offsite team members and to support test and operation outside of the San Diego area.
This position will require the candidate to obtain and hold a Top Secret Clearance.
**Primary Responsibilities**
Work collaboratively within an experienced system development team to provide technical expertise to design, develop, integrate, and test electrical components and subsystems. All effort is performed in a "system" construct and responds to relevant performance and interface requirements. Team members also have cognizance of allocated cost and schedule constraints to be considered during the development process. Efforts ultimately conclude with verification of allocated performance requirements at the component, subsystem, and system level.
**Basic Qualifications**
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the following:
+ Experience with analog and digital circuit design and associated design and analysis tools for PCB design, layout, fabrication, documentation, and testing.
+ Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly techniques.
+ Experience using circuit test tools such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, etc.
+ Experience with low-power microcontrollers using C/C++ language programming.
+ Experience with Programmable Logic (CPLD & FPGA).
Experience working in teams to develop solutions, deliver products, and test and evaluate performance.
Experience and skill analyzing experiment data to recommend design modifications during a system development cycle.
Possess strong technical writing skills to provide input to technical reports and briefing material.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience with Altium Designer.
Experience with VHLD language.
Current Top Secret security clearance.
Experience custom circuit card design, integration and test.
Demonstrated "self-starter" who can identify technical challenges, work collaboratively with team members to identify, evaluate, and optimize solutions, and as needed, work independently to complete assigned tasks.
Ability to take a system-of-systems approach to understand requirements and produce reliable, robust designs.
Experience performing laboratory and at-sea test and evaluation (T&E) tasks.

**Pay Range:**
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
