JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Electronics Technician to be a part of a rapidly growing company. In this role, you are filling a core role within our team with that will have a direct impact on our business. Our success comes from exploiting opportunities for automation and optimizing the performance and safety of high horsepower pumping equipment and other systems by reducing costs and minimizing downtime.

In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automation systems in the field, ensuring the efficient operation of our clients' equipment (with how it relates to our systems). You will play a crucial role in supporting our customers, identifying, and resolving technical issues, and providing exceptional service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Install, configure, and troubleshoot automation systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), sensors, actuators, and other related equipment.

- Perform preventive maintenance on automation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions.

- Assist in the commissioning of new systems and conduct thorough testing to ensure functionality and adherence to specifications.

- Respond to customer service calls promptly and resolve technical problems efficiently to minimize disruption to operations.

- Document all maintenance and repair activities, including equipment logs, service reports, and parts inventory.

- Troubleshoot complex system issues by utilizing your strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Apply your deep understanding of automation technologies to diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently.

- Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and test equipment to identify root causes of system malfunctions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify systemic issues and develop effective solutions.

- Stay up to date with the latest automation technologies and industry best practices to improve troubleshooting techniques.

- Provide technical expertise and guidance to customers and colleagues regarding system troubleshooting and issue resolution.

- Conduct in-depth analysis of system performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations.

- Develop and implement preventive measures to minimize system failures and optimize performance.

- Train customers and team members in troubleshooting techniques and preventive maintenance procedures.

- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the field and on client premises.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Passion for automation and a strong interest in industrial/heavy equipment.

- Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in electronics, automation, or a related field.

- Proven experience as an electronics technician, preferably in the field of automation or industrial control systems.

- Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators.

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.

- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.

- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a dynamic field environment.

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required (company truck provided for field work).

- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the field of automation.

- Willingness to travel overnight (approximately 50% of the time) as required.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week
