Company Overview: Our client is seeking a Head Start/GSRP teacher who will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, high-quality educational environment for program children and families.
Position Summary: The successful candidate shall have at least 4 years of full-time ASL interpretation services for related projects.
**$1,000 new hire incentives after 90 days upon hire**
Position Responsibilities
· Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
· Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children's needs that include all aspects of the High/Scope daily routine.
· Maintain program documentation on children and families.
· Support and encourage parent involvement through parent day activities, field trips, volunteer opportunities, conferences and home visits.
· Document and communicate children's progress through the use of the Child Observation Record (COR).
· Administer, score and communicate results of the developmental assessment within 45 days of each child entering the program.
· Observe and document children's activities and interactions through anecdotal notes.
· Work and communicate effectively as part of a team environment.
· Prepare, serve, clean up and document meals, as necessary.
· Document any contributions to the classroom, (food, money, etc.).
· Attend meetings and program functions, assigned.
· Follow all Board of Education and Policy Council policies, local, state and federal guidelines, laws and regulations.
· Provides support to other positions as required.
· Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Start/GSRP Director or designee.
· Complete High/Scope training within the first school year of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, Child Development Associate (CDA), or commitment to obtain CDA credential within one year of hire required
· Experience working with young children in a GSRP classroom setting for more than 3 years.

· Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
· Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
· Knowledge, skill and ability in the use of MS Office Suite and e-mail.
