Join us and gain vital, real-world experience with a Van Drunen summer internship! Interns will be placed within a functional area related to their program of study. This is a paid internship program and will run full-time for 12 weeks beginning in May.
JOB OVERVIEW: As an Accounting/Finance Intern, you will assist with a special project focused on Fixed Asset Reconciliation and Financial Reporting, under the guidance of the Manager of Finance Systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reconcile our Thompson Reuters Fixed Asset system to the Fixx system used by operations, notating any items in one system that are not in the other system.
- Work with Plant personnel, site directors and plant controllers to conduct a physical audit of fixed assets on the TR system to validate they exist in one of our locations.
- Work directly with Manager of Finance Systems for other reporting and KPI reporting.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Attention to detail and demonstrated time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and strong interpersonal skills
- Have a curious, proactive and solution-oriented approach

EDUCATION: - Upperclassman (incoming Junior or Senior) at an accredited College or University
- Desired Major(s): Business Administration, Accounting, Finance
- Preferred Minimum GPA: 3.0
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Sit and use a computer for a long period of time.
- Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents.
- Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, hand-written forms, and printed on paper.
- Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoor office environment, may on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment
