JSET Automated Technologies is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team! We specialize in low-voltage controls and communications, focusing on the installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical building management systems for commercial and industrial projects in the Columbus area. Position: Low Voltage Technician

As a Low Voltage Technician at JSET, you will be responsible for executing complex low-voltage installations and ensuring systems are properly configured, tested, and commissioned. Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing and connecting low-voltage electrical systems, including wiring and cables for data, telecommunications, and control systems.
  • Configuring systems based on blueprints, schematics, and other technical guides.
  • Installing and terminating various types of control wiring, including CAT5/6, coaxial, and fiber optics.
  • Installing electrical conduit, raceways, and enclosures, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of low-voltage systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborating with other team members and trades to ensure successful project completion.
  • Performing overhead work and operating lifts safely to install equipment and cables.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in low-voltage systems installation, specifically with structured cabling and related systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, including CAT5/6, coaxial, fiber optic cabling, and control wiring.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong experience with terminating and testing cables (fiber optics and copper).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (EIA, TIA, BICSI, NEC) and a commitment to maintaining compliance.
  • Comfort with overhead installations and working at heights.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality work.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds independently.
