Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. The Manager, Employee Relations & Investigations will thoroughly and expeditiously investigate Team Member concerns in a fair, unbiased, and consistent manner. The ideal candidate will need to have significant experience operating in a fast paced and guest facing environment and possesses a strong generalist skill set working in Union and Non-Union organizations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Responsible for conducting in-depth interviews and investigations, including gathering and evaluating information; preparing reports, determining facts; conferring with managers about issues to resolve problems and answer questions regarding HR processes specific to investigations and discipline; assisting with preparation of disciplinary documentation. + Develop and implement standardized processes for conducting investigations and tracking and documenting employee relations claims and cases. Maintain detailed and accurate accounts of investigations with timely memorialization of the notes and supporting documents into a centralized system. + Independently manage assigned casework, bringing investigations to closure rapidly and definitively + Analyze aggregate casework data to identify issue trends and opportunities for proactive issue mitigation + Partner in analysis and revision of Team Member programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment. + Train, Coach, counsel, and educate Team Members at all levels on HR policies, processes, programs, and strategies + Use sound judgment, discretion and creative problem-solving approach to conduct investigations and ensure the timely resolution of complex employee relations issues + Provide counseling, advice and guidance to Management and HR partners in dealing with complex or sensitive employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices. + Participate in Diversity and Inclusion Council to develop an environment that embraces our diverse culture throughout the organization. + Partner with Legal and deliver compliance training. Basic Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Management, or related field required. + Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements. + Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible Human Resources generalist experience, including experience with employee relations, performance management & organizational development processes/activities. + Proven experience creating and communicating policy updates across a larger HR team. + Minimum of 3 years of experience handling complicated employee investigations and collaborating with counsel to document and ensure timely resolutions with investigations. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to earn trust, and work successfully on a wide range of Team Member and labor relations issues. Desired Characteristics + Advanced degree in HR management, Organizational Development or Industrial Relations. + Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high quality HR services in a fast paced, high change environment. + Strong facilitation, influencing and conflict resolution skills. + Demonstrates vertical flexibility - Ability to shift focus from big picture to "getting things done" as necessary + Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with an HRMS such as SAP and Oracle. + Experience in union/represented environments and retail or hospitality industry highly preferred. + Ability to develop integrated solutions from inception to post-delivery assessment. + Occasional flexibility with working weekends and holidays, if needed. Additional Requirements + This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
