Teaching assignments will include introductory through upper-level courses in exercise science and kinesiology primarily including exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, anatomy and physiology, and related courses as needed. The Exercise Science and Kinesiology program started in the Fall of 2023 and is in pursuit and maintenance of CAAHEP-CoAES accreditation. It has already proven to being a thriving program and we are looking forward to an exciting continuous success. The new faculty member will be involved in the development of clinical partnerships, curriculum design, and the development, maintenance and function of the Exercise Physiology laboratory. Ability to develop new course material in exercise physiology and other areas of expertise, and experience and ability to work with a culturally and nationally/internationally diverse student body. Exercise Science and Kinesiology houses over 3,000 square feet of renovated human performance laboratory space which includes a biomechanics lab, and an exercise physiology lab.The Exercise Physiology Lab is already allocated, and houses 1271 square feet of that space. The newly hired exercise physiologist will have the opportunity to equip the lab (i.e. metabolic cart/VO2 max, cycle ergometers, body composition, and more).
This position will require creative collaboration with faculty, athletics, a student-centered approach to teaching and advising, assistance with student career development, participation in scholarly and professional development activities, and contribution to the development and maintenance of the program and the college.
