Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily pharmacy operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and exceptional patient care.
Maintain knowledge of and adherence to USP 797 and USP 800 standards, along with current state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Oversee the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications and solutions as prescribed by authorized medical personnel.
Ensure compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements for pharmacy practices.
Conduct patient assessments and develop, implement, and revise care plans to address drug-related needs or concerns.
Supervise and guide pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and interns, ensuring the accuracy of all prepared medications.
Oversee the handling, security, and documentation of controlled substances in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Collaborate with physicians, referral sources, and the sales team to provide expert drug information and support team initiatives.
Participate in on-call scheduling, providing coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care.
Manage recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and professional development for pharmacy team members.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.) with relevant clinical experience.
Active and applicable state pharmacy license; additional licensure may be required based on state regulations.
Post-graduate training in pharmacy or related fields.
Specialty pharmacy and infusion experience preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of pharmacist experience, including expertise in compounding.
Proficiency with pharmacy management software and tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong customer service skills and ability to lead a team effectively.
