About the job: Under direction of the Chief, Policy Office, the AGPA will analyze a wide range of issues impacting agency programs, develop policy recommendations and executive level reports, and coordinate response to requests for information specific to California’s emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation operations, as well as other areas of public safety and public policy.Must have knowledge of Cal OES, state and related federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Must have a strong analytical background; exercise good writing skills; follow oral and written directions; be responsive to the needs of the public and employees of Cal OES and other agencies; analyze situations and take effective action using initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgment. Must work independently and in a team environment.

Telework: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.
