Job Description

Stepan is seeking a Production Manager to join our plant team in Anaheim, CA. In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager and be an integral member of the Plant Leadership Team. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing and controlling safe, reliable, and efficient production areas and personnel. The Production Manager will set targets, oversee production costs, drive group and individual accountability and support site and corporate management objectives. 


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to ensure site production design, resourcing, and output is in line with current and future production needs.
  • Plan and justify capital expenditures to suit business and infrastructure needs.
  • Drive the site’s production reliability efforts.
  • Ensure that maintenance turnarounds are timely, effectively planned, and safely executed with the business.
  • Ensure plant and corporate EHS&S policies and guidelines are strictly adhered to (i.e. MOC, Life Saving Rules, permits, and reporting).
  • Lead, promote, and maintain safety culture for all area personnel through auditing/feedback training, and performing safety contacts.
  • Provide leadership for the daily operations of team members to meet the needs of the customer while supporting department and company financial goals and objectives.
  • Propose capital and expense budgets and work with plant superintendent to finalize plans.

     

Qualifications

  • Required 7+ years experience managing operations in a manufacturing environment, preferably Chemical industry.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience with an emphasis in developing high performance teams.
  • Experience supervising/leading in a union work environment preferred.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, ISO and/or other quality improvement tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of sources, including upper management, other departments, external contractors, and operations/operators. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry – Chemical Engineering preferred, other engineering degrees will be considered

Pay Range: Min $117,654 - Max: $199,529
