Job Description

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Project Manager ll, Applied Projects in NYC.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager ll is responsible for the project management and field activities supporting waterside and airside products, within their assigned territory. Responsibilities include project execution, time & materials management, project work-flow management, cost & billing management, and staff & resources allocation as necessary. The Project Manager will also attend project jobsite for various activities with internal and external customers and perform sales and engineering functions on an as-needed basis. Additional responsibilities include assisting with commercial project operations, support of & coordination with other METUS departments and continuous improvement efforts as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Act as the main project liaison during the implementation phase of commercial domestic hot water, energy, building automation project for METUS through close collaboration with internal teams, distribution, and contractors.
  • Responsible for the review of technical applications of Applied Projects in their territory. Providing system design review, including custom logic / sequence review of all projects with Sales & Engineering teams.
  • Review for accuracy all project design documents, prior to issuance to the customer. Review to include engineered drawings, submittals and other project documentation as required by the project specifications & Applied Projects standards and best practices.
  • Perform in-field project activities as required for installation, start-up, and commissioning.
  • Prepare, review and approve project closeout documentation, including but not limited to: O&Ms, as built & record drawings, database backups and other required collateral required by the project specifications & Applied Projects standards and best practices.
  • Assist sales staff with technical applications and estimation of project costs, as required.
  • Prepare and execute change orders for projects, as required.
  • Responsible for the maintenance & accuracy of project data in SalesForce/PSA, related to project operation/management activity. Provide reporting details of assigned projects, for analytical review of project performance.
  • Conduct and/or participate in project status- coordination meetings, for both internal staff and external customers, to facilitate positive project outcomes.
  • Actively maintain good customer relations, including conflict mitigation, in all phases of a project life cycle.
  • Assist in the development & implementation of project management policy, procedure & tools, as required.
  • Assist with maintenance of standards & best practices for design and installation of waterside offerings, Diamond Controls systems, Energy Allocation projects, and other Applied Projects/Applied offerings.
  • Maintain proficiency levels with application, service, and installation of all CMCN & Diamond Control products, both individually and for assigned staff as needed. Assist in the identification, development, and execution of required training needs to maintain these proficiency levels.
  • Assist in the promotion of Applied Projects offerings as required. Activities may include participation in customer meetings, attendance at industry trade show/events, staff & customer presentations, assist in development of required marketing collateral and other activities required in promoting offerings & services.
  • Assist in the operation and growth of the Applied Projects staff by training, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, reviewing job contributions, planning and reviewing project action, and assisting in the enforcement of policies and procedures.
  • Willing to travel up to 75% to for various project visits, company meetings, and training both domestically and possibly internationally
  • Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering, computer science or technical degree in HVAC Control Systems or Computer Networking, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of project management experience in the Plumbing/Hydronics, BMS/BAS, or HVAC industry.
  • 5-8 years of experience in HVAC controls with a focus on Building Management Systems & Integration. Experience with both hardware wiring, panel-building and software implementation is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of hands-on technical experience with DDC controls, BMS/BAS, Lon Works, BACnet, and networking. Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office and networking; Strong communication, presentation, training, and technical writing skills; Analytical approach to problem solving; Team oriented, self-motivated, and likes to work hands on.
  • Must have and maintain an active driving license.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $104,000 and $143,000 per year. however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
