This team is central to Amazon's supply-chain infrastructure, managing a suite of services that calculate delivery speeds for millions of transactions every second within Amazon's vast fulfillment network. We're an integral part of the Supply Chain & Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization, working at the intersection of logistics, data analysis, and state-of-the-art technology to ensure accurate and efficient delivery promises to customers worldwide.

We're actively seeking skilled and inquisitive professionals to join our team in developing complex, customer-facing solutions capable of handling hundreds of millions of transactions per second. This role offers an opportunity to gain expertise in constructing highly scalable services that manage high-volume, low-latency operations using advanced AWS technologies. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what AWS services can achieve and contributing to systems that operate at an unprecedented scale.

About the team
The Promise team owns making the delivery promise to the customers, which has a direct impact on the customer experience as well as on Amazon’s fulfillment costs. Accuracy of delivery promise crucial for customer conversion, loyalty, and fulfillment costs. The Promise team is distributed between Seattle and Austin.

Our team is engrained in the science, technology, and strategic initiatives. We own high-volume and low-latency customer-facing Tier-1 services, which supply crucial information about delivery speeds across Amazon's online platforms. Our dual focus is on presenting customers with optimal offers featuring the fastest delivery options, while simultaneously working to streamline and reduce fulfillment expenses for Amazon.

The Promise team cultivates a culture that promotes innovation and empowers developers and managers to take charge of product vision, technical architecture, and project execution. Senior and Principal Engineers are passionate about mentoring and developing Software Development Engineers (SDEs), guiding them through challenges to accelerate customer deliveries, enhance the accuracy of delivery promises, and broaden service applications across various business scenarios.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
