Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is a single-threaded organization with ownership of the end-to-end (E2E) customer experience for large, heavy, and bulky products. AMXL consolidates E2E supply chain: strategy, data analytics, tech, operations, warehousing, order fulfillment, transportation, and delivery. AMXL also offers special handling services such as Room of Choice delivery, Haul-Away, and Installation/Assembly for select items. AMXL currently operates in NA, EU, JP, and IN, with plans for further expansion.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager, AMXL NA Last Mile Long Term Planning team member will own the last mile new initiative strategy and execution plan for the 1-5 year horizon, dive deep into data to optimize and integrate existing strategies, and improve quality and financial metrics within the AMXL transportation network with innovative new solutions. You are able to effectively communicate in verbal and written form to senior stakeholders, solve ambiguous problem statements with a data-oriented approach, and identify and solve gaps with innovative solutions which improve customer experience, reduce cost, and create a best in class delivery network.

Key job responsibilities
- Create long term Last Mile NA volume plans during each planning cycle, by collaborating with execution, short term planning, launch and finance teams to gather crucial network design inputs such as route costs, vehicle capacity considerations, network changes (site moves, closures) and define the 3-5 year jurisdiction and routing strategy.
- Build, maintain, improve, and operate supply chain optimization and simulation models in partnership with SCOT and MOP internal data analytics teams while considering tradeoffs between network speed, cost, product mix, and performance across NA for a regionalized network.
- Own VP level goals on Last Mile Cost per package improvements and jurisdiction optimization across all NA delivery stations.
- Scope requirements and integrate new business initiatives into existing operations and develop weekly/monthly station level flows and metrics.
- Create an economic model in partnership with MOP data science teams to quantify incremental capacity costs, assess customer experience impact, and optimize peaking factors. This will lead to informed and cost-effective capacity planning, balancing cost and service quality for better customer experiences.
- Communicate the network design and strategic visions through whitepapers, influencing leadership teams across retail, sellers, transportation operations, technology, and planning.
- Less than 10% travel required.
