The Sustainability Analyst will assist the Director of Sustainability in sharing our environmental sustainability strategy effectively throughout the organization and to stakeholders. The Analyst is responsible for supporting data collection and management of NFI’s greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions reporting and environmental compliance efforts. This will be a cross-functional role that will work on sustainability-related issues and contribute to sustainability communications efforts throughout the business lines. The analyst will provide data-driven insights and analysis to help shape strategies, measure environmental impact, and promote sustainable business practices.
Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data related to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, waste, energy use, and other sustainability metrics.
Monitor and stay updated on local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
Manage site-level operational relationships to ensure accurate reporting of environmental regulations and the implementation of compliance procedures.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Intake and track requests for individual sustainable needs. Assist research and identify opportunities focused on reducing NFI’s environmental footprint.
Develop informational sheets and guidance materials for employee and customer education
Work alongside the Purchasing team outlining sustainable suppliers
Support annual supplier surveys, customer RFIs & RFPs, and Environmental questionnaires
The Sustainability Analyst will report directly to the Director of Sustainability, playing a critical role in driving and supporting key sustainability initiatives across the organization
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or Sustainability related Major. Business or
Supply Chain focus preferred.
Entry level to 2 years of related experience
Experience handling data sets and running analysis in Excel or similar software
Strong understanding of Corporate GHG Protocol and working knowledge of climate reporting frameworks
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing the most pressing and impactful matters
Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
Initiative-taker and an individual contributor with ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Travel may be needed quarterly to sustainability site projects
