FLSA for Position: Brief Summary of Work for this Position: The College of Science and Engineering is seeking temporary/part time faculty, for Fall 2024 and Spring/Summer 2025.
To implement its academic programs, the College of Science and Engineering provides instruction and research opportunities in the natural and behavioral sciences, information technology, data science, computer science, mathematics, pre-engineering, and engineering.
The College welcomes applications from temporary/part-time faculty with the ability to teach one or more courses in one or more of the following departments and disciplines:
- Computer Science
- Pre-Engineering
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Undergraduate course teaching: Masters degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Graduate course teaching: Terminal degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Those with equivalent verifiable professional experience, certifications, and licensures in the discipline may also be considered.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Required Certifications or Licensure: Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit: The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) offers a variety of programs leading to Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Science degrees, as well as Doctor of Philosophy degrees in applied coastal and ocean sciences; pharmaceutical chemistry; integrative, comparative, and marine biology; and psychology degrees. The college also offers combined bachelor's/master's degree programs in information technology/computer science and information systems, computer science/computer science and information systems, and B.S. in mathematics/M.S. in mathematics. The college also has a B.A. in Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Geospatial Sciences, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics (and Mathematics with teacher licensure), Psychology, and Biology.

Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.
