Job Description

Position Title: Workforce Coordinator

Location:

Hybrid: remote (eligible candidates can reside in MI, OH, TN, IN, WV, or MN) with travel component required; U.S. travel required up to 40%

 

Description:

IACMI - The Composites Institute®, is seeking a highly motivated and detailed-oriented Workforce Coordinator to provide organizational support to the America’s Cutting Edge Workforce Development team. This position will be critical in fostering outreach and relationships with public-private partners, including industry, schools, local communities, government, private sector organizations, and workforce development organizations. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is tech savvy, well organized and a self-starter who enjoys working on a team focused on impacting the lives of individuals and communities through education and training. The position person will aid in trouble shooting and other supporting correspondence needed for ongoing success of the ACE program sites’ programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of workforce manager: create, design and maintain reports, PowerPoint presentations, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office tools and other company designated computer programs. 
  • Willing to learn and utilize new software.
  • Collaborate closely with IACMI Communications Team to ensure ACE program highlights are being shared.
  • Track program expenses, budges, invoices ensuring program compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with IACMI Program Management Team to ensure ACE sites are performing to contractual milestones and program records.
  • Assist in organizing, planning, and executing events (in-person and virtual) including demonstrations, webinars, meetings, and other special events as needed.
  • Coordinate outreach and recruitment efforts for IACMI’s ACE workforce programs and initiatives with staff, working closely with high schools, community colleges, universities, and industry partners to identify alignment of need and fit based on data extracted and other information provided.
  • Manage assigned ACE Sites. Maintain relationships with ACE Point of Contacts. Tracking Sites progress toward milestones and being a resource for support for assigned ACE Sites.
  • Initiate program follow-up when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred; certifications and associated technical experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing support, education, training, or workforce development programs.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment supporting CSS/IACMI workforce team as needed.
  • Self-starter with problem solving abilities and able to follow directives and budget considerations.
  • This role requires the ability to lead others by coaching, providing clear direction, and strong organizational skills. 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Familiarity and experience with communication platforms such as MS Teams, and Zoom, including setting up and leading meetings and webinars. Ability to learn new software as needed.
  • Valid US driver’s license required with an ability to drive to meetings and events in the regional area.
  • Must be able to move around freely, lift up to 25 pounds, sit or stand for moderate periods of time, and travel at up to 40% of time with some overnight stays.
  • Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Eligible candidates can reside in MI, OH, TN, IN, WV or MN.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Federally funded programs and projects such as Department of Defense, Department of Energy and/or Department of Labor, Department of Education
  • Experience working with grant funded programs
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Experience with technical writing such as proposal development, white papers, case studies, etc.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with students in K-12 and post-secondary environments
