Summary
As a member of Information Technology, the Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for data reporting. Primary responsibilities include writing reports, dashboards, creating data sets, executing test plans and creating reporting documentation. ? Create, design and execute dashboards/data visualizations and operational reporting using the campus software reporting tools. Including but not limited to WebFOCUS and SQL Developer
? Plan, create and support self-service data tools
? Document reporting specifications
? Prepare and execute test plans
? Review/understand university processes/procedures and make recommendations for improvements
? Provide occasional support outside of regular business operating hours including evenings and weekends.
? Maintain university data dictionary
? Prioritize work in line with institutional expectations
? Work independently and as part of a team
? Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives
? Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work
? Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures
? Bachelor’s degree in business/data analytics, computer science, management information systems or technically related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
Required Experience
? Demonstrated professional experience using a query based reporting tool to create reports and dashboards (e.g. WebFOCUS or Tableau)
? Demonstrated professional experience and understanding of complex table joins and database query languages
Desirable Education and/or Experience
? Experience in an academic environment
? Experience using Oracle, Ellucian Banner, and/or Information Builders WebFOCUS
? Experience with data governance

? Demonstrated ability to analyze data, processes, and complex situations to determine a best course of action using problem solving and analytical skills
? Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and objectives
? Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy, precision, and attention to detail
? Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff

? Experience working on projects in a project management environment ?
