Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine ( CABM ) within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences ( RBHS ).

The primary purpose of the Temporary Research Assistant is to perform research activities in a laboratory studying models of potassium channel related disease.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• As directed, performs various research/technical operations relative to the ongoing investigatory activities of the lab.
• Performs molecular biology approaches including genotyping of disease models, and expression vector generation
• Maintain accurate records of experimentation and research, assist with data entry and analysis.
• Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science or working towards Bachelor's Degree in a biomedical science related field. 
• Relevant or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Standing, sitting, walking, may need to lift small packages.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Scientific research laboratory. Universal safety precautions are mandatory.
