Position Overview:
Are you an experienced nurse looking for a dynamic, tech-enabled role that allows you to provide expert care across multiple healthcare settings? As a Virtual Resource Nurse (VRN), you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality remote nursing care to adult patients in acute and sub-acute care, emergency departments, critical care units, skilled nursing facilities, and even within their homes. Acting as a key member of the patient care team, you will collaborate with on-site clinical staff to provide real-time patient monitoring, clinical decision support, and patient and family education.
This position is on-site in Brentwood, TN, with no remote work options.
What You'll Do:
Serve as an expert clinical resource, delivering virtual nursing care and coordinating with on-site teams.
Utilize advanced critical thinking skills to assess patient conditions, define interventions, and support care teams.
Provide real-time patient education, family guidance, and nurse mentorship to ensure best practices are followed.
Monitor and interpret telemetry data, escalating concerns when necessary.
Use electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.) to document and track patient care.
Lead and support nurses through supervision, coaching, and mentoring to enhance patient outcomes.
Collaborate across disciplines to optimize care coordination and continuity for patients.
What You Bring:
5+ years of experience in acute care, critical care, or step-down units.
1+ year of leadership experience directing hospital staff in clinical workflows.
Strong ability to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and implement evidence-based protocols.
Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, clinical policies, and procedures.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively coordinate with healthcare teams.
Proficiency in computer-based documentation and healthcare navigation systems.
Required Qualifications:
Active RN license or an unencumbered compact nursing license, with the ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Certifications: ACLS and BLS (Required); EKG and PALS (Preferred).
